The entrance is impressive. The beer tht exits, even more so.
The gates that stand outside our brewery are not intended to keep our competition out. Instead, they symbolize the standard of quality upheld in every beer that leaves. Pilsner Urquell, the world’s first true golden beer, was born right here, in 1842. And it remains the beer all others are measured against. Enjoy the original. Enter the legend of Pilsner Urquell.
The gates are just the beginning.
Beyond these magnificent gates we’ve brewed the world’s first and finest golden beer for over 170 years. Triple decoction, direct flame heating of the mash in copper kettles and arrested fermentation come together to create the standard by which all beers are measured. We invite you to enter the legend of Pilsner Urquell and experience the pure Pilsner from Pilsen.
Quality Control.
True, the brewery may have the feel of a fortified castle. But after all, this is the birthplace of the world’s original, most often imitated, golden beer. While that is something worth protecting, our gates are not to keep people out. They are meant to ensure the world’s highest quality Pilsner beer is the only thing that ever leaves. We invite you to enter the legend of Pilsner Urquell.
