When I’m not empathetically listening to art directors explain why I have to make edits to fit their brilliant layout you can find me: watching soccer, being an outstanding pet-parent, navigating the waters of first-time homeownership or finding new breakfast spots. 2012-2017 / Bader Rutter / Copywriter

Highlights:
-Won some awards: AdAge BtoB Best, Global ACE, Telly, National NAMA & MKE 99.
-Spearheaded an overhaul to the agency’s social media presence.
-Moved a Type A client away from “ads” filled with charts and graphs to truly conceptual      campaigns.
-Helped form the agency’s internal communications team. Our goal was to cut down on obnoxious “all agency” emails (we totally did). We also hosted quarterly town hall meetings so employees could get the lowdown directly from leadership, which lead to the formation of the Employee Advisory Council – a group of people, across all departments, who act as liaisons between the worker bees and top brass.

2011-2012 / Jacobson Rost / Copywriter

Highlights:
-Provided the voice to some of America’s biggest beer brands on social media and increased customer engagement.
-Learned those food pairings beer brands come up with are total B.S. I mean, how can the same beer taste good with fish fry and cheese? I’m looking at you, Leinenkugel’s.
-Mastered the yard game, Bags. I think it’s important you know. In case you ever need a ringer.

2008-2011 / Freelance / Copywriter (there was some art direction happening too)

Highlights:
-Got to see the inner workings of some stellar Chicago agencies: Draft, Element 79, Leo Burnett & DDB.
-Worked on the McDonald’s Big Mac account until Client decided they actually did not want to kill the Big Mac song (two all beefs patties, special sauce…) so all our work died instead.
-Found out I’m kind of related to the original Morris the Cat. I’d love to tell you the story.
